Great if at a lower priceAug 05, 2010
By D. Muya Amazon ran a very short special on this item, and I got it for way below the listed price. At what I paid for it, I'm extremely happy with the item. Video quality is phenomenal, it picks up audio just right, it looks rugged and easy to use. I would, however, not pay full price fort his device.
Any cons that I can find, is that there isn't any sort of frame stabilizing technology, so you either learn to hold it steady, use a tripod, or just put up with overly shaky video.

Great recorder except for the soundJul 30, 2010
By BigMark I bought this so that I would have a video recorder that I could fit in my shirt pocket. I also use it to send short family videos to family members. It takes great videos but the sound could be better. I will take it on any trip I go on. I have a digital camera that also takes video but it is a lot bigger than the Vado so it is a hassle to take with me. I am very happy with my purchase.
It is very easy to operate and it is very easy to load videos to a computer.

it works great, and the quality is great. it performs as well as pricier handycams from Canon or Sanyo, and it's more pocketable.
Great Camera!Mar 22, 2011
By Cappnormal Camera was new. All the stuff came with it. I have been using it for about two weeks and these are my observations. Wide angle lens which I like, most other video cameras don't have this. Slightly warmer picture which I also like. Smaller than most another plus. Simple controls and maybe a bit too simple. No image stabilization. This is not so bad because I have read that that feature is not all that good yet. I have a Kodak zi8 as well and the key is to hold it steady-Duh! Records in AVI which some have complained about. I don't find that a problem. There are converters out there to change the format. The software for the Mac is not so good. It's very very simple so I use "imovie". Overall I like this camera and would recommend it. I like it better than the Vado HD 3rd generation whose controls are way too sensitive. I understand its about the same as the Vado HD 2nd generation. The plus for this one over the 2nd and 3rd gen is the finish. This one has a rubbery matt finish and the other Vado's are shiny and prone to finger prints. 8 gigs is plenty of storage. The battery you can swap out with a fresh one easy. You can buy a charger for faster charging as the usb charger takes hours. I have been in contact with Vado cust service for a couple minor issues and they got back to me fast. Buy one-the price is right.

For Quick Videos in a PinchDec 30, 2009
By E. Figueroa This camera certainly has limitations. It is not good in low light, has no image stabilization and the sound is not the greatest but all in all the price is right! It you are looking for any of the aforementioned features then this camera along with all the other flip-style camcorders are not for you. I would say the quality of the videos that this camera can capture is a step up from my iphone. The other benefits over the iphone are that you can mount it on a tri-pod and the controls are more user friendly. At the end of the day I am happy with this purchase and it should keep me happy until I am ready to invest more money and purchase a higher-end HD camera.
